Volunteer Opportunities

We depend on the energy and expertise of dedicated volunteers to help us support residents of long-term care facilities and their families and friends.

Volunteer-based opportunities with ACR include:

• Administrative assistance – we need help with a number of administrative functions, including taking minutes at Board meetings and distributing these to Board Members by e-mail or fax

• Participation on our Fundraising Committee – we need your creative ideas to help us raise funds to continue our work

• Participation on our Newsletter Committee – we welcome article or information submissions as well as suggestions for topics for our newsletter

• Participation on our Family Council Committee – we need help to support our work with family councils throughout the province, including assistance in organizing and generating interest in family council workshops and preparing handouts for distribution

• Publicity assistance – we rely on volunteers to help us distribute information about ACR and raise the profile of our organization

Other specific volunteer opportunities, related to events, family council workshops, or other education programs, come up from time to time. You do not need to be a member of ACR to volunteer.
