Workshops

ACR provides training workshops across the province to help facilitate the development of family councils.

Through our workshops we provide practical information and step-by-step guidance to help establish and organize family councils. We also help existing family council groups learn new information and skills to revitalize their organization and sustain an effective family council.

Past workshops have helped participants develop advocacy skills and communication and listening skills, and learn ways to build strong partnerships with the care facility administration. Our workshops have also covered topics including models of care and new initiatives in care, such as the Eden Alternative.

Information sessions
In addition to offering scheduled workshops, ACR is available by request to meet with groups from residential care facilities to provide information and support in establishing or maintaining a family council. Please contact us to discuss how we can help.
